Exploring stories of those who wanted to disappear and others who had no choice, from abductions to murders, to runaways and second chances,Disappearances with Sarah Turney examines some of the most well-documented missing persons cases in history.

In today’s premiere episode, Sarah Turney examines the arresting missing persons case of Evan Patz, the first missing child featured on the back of a milk carton. In May 1979, after weeks of him asking, Julie and Stan Patz finally allowed their 6-year-old son, Etan, to walk to the bus stop alone. The result was every parent’s worst nightmare: in the span of ten minutes, along just two NYC blocks, Etan Patz disappeared and was never seen again. Listen to the premiere episode (HERE) to learn more about the tragic case of Evan Patz, what led to the capture of his killer, and what impact his case had on the country overall.

Host Sarah Turney established a robust following in the true crime community after solving her sister’s disappearance by resurfacing the two-decade old cold case on TikTok, where she currently engages 1.1M followers, as well as other social media platforms. With her firsthand knowledge of how hard it is to lose someone you love, especially when you don’t have all of the answers, this season of Disappearances will explore a variety of cases including:

  • A group of inmates who vanished after escaping the world’s highest security prison: Alcatraz.
  • The heir to one of the largest fortunes in the world – Michael C. Rockefeller – vanishes off the coast of New Guinea.
  • Australian prime minister Harold Holt, who stepped into the ocean and was never seen again.
