V Channels and Spanglish Movies Partner to Distribute Spanish and Portuguese Content in the US and Latin America

Films will be distributed on AVOD and FAST channel platforms, and on V Channel’s YouTube channel network

V Channels, the world leader in on-demand entertainment founded by Niccolo Messina, and Spanglish Movies, led by CEO Gustavo Rodriguez Aparicio have formed a partnership to distribute a slate of thirty feature-length films from a group of emerging international filmmakers over the next year. The Spanish and Portuguese-language films will be produced and financed by V Channels and will be distributed by Spanglish Movies across AVOD and FAST channel platforms in the US and Latin America. In a return on the partnership, V Channels will distribute existing Spanglish Movies films on their extensive network of YouTube movie channels and platforms worldwide. In addition to the one-year partnership, both companies are negotiating the co-production of an additional lineup of films for future distribution across platforms.

Production is currently underway on the V Channels Original films that will be released through the Spanglish Movie distribution pipeline. These will be produced in various languages, including Spanish, and dubbed into Spanish and Portuguese. Initial movies on this slate include the thriller WHERE ARE YOU with Anthony Hopkins, the sci-fi thriller DARK PARASITE starring Desiree Giorgietti, Aaron Stielstra, Michael Segal and David White, the horror film THE MAN IN THE FIELDS starring Isacco Salvi and Martina Capaccioli, and THE LEGEND OF JACK AND DIANE, which is Tom Sizemore’s last film.

Additional Spanglish Movies titles that V Channels will distribute on their YouTube network of channels over the next year include BACK TO THE BEGINNING, SOLTERAS INDISPONIBLES and LOTOMAN 003.

Spanglish Movies was created in October 2014 by a group of executives of Major Studios who decided it was time to offer Latin American filmmakers the know-how and working processes that Hollywood film distributors had been applying since the beginnings of the film industry. They create partnerships with licensees around the world, allowing content creators to benefit from the transfer of rights to broadcast productions to cinemas, free-to-air and subscription TV channels, streaming platforms, and distributors of home-made formats in all possible markets worldwide.

V Channels is the largest network of YouTube movie channels with over 250,000,000 movies streamed every month around the globe across five different languages. With a massive dubbing of 100 titles a month in Spanish, Portuguese, Filipino, and Bahasa, V Channels has brought many independent movies to new and never explored markets for the independent movie industry.

V Channels most recently signed a deal with Rustic Pictures and XYZ Films to incubate, finance, produce and distribute a slate of ten micro budget, data driven, feature length genre films from a group of diverse filmmakers from around the world. V Channels is fully financing the ten features, with Rustic Films spearheading the curation and overseeing production of the slate. XYZ Films is serving as Executive Producers and will help with the curation, and also help facilitate premium sales and distribution for some of the films to be determined after completion. V Channels also signed a recent partnership with Sandaled Kid Productions to co-produce and finance another similar slate of genre films.

“I am extremely grateful to collaborate with Nick and his team at V Channels. I take great pride in our partnership, which extends beyond the cross-distribution of carefully chosen films from Spanglish and V Channels. Together, we are also working on the production of a film slate and a theatrical lineup that will elevate our companies, films, and content creators to new heights,” said Gustavo.

“With Spanglish Movies we will reach one of the most important communities for our strategy. The South American community represents one of the key focuses of V channels. With our massive dubbing effort to serve this community via YouTube, it was the right time to partner with a company like Spanglish to expand our reach to the biggest platforms in South America and the US to serve the Latino audience,” said V Channel’s CEO Niccolo Messina.
