Don’t F in the Woods series writer/director Shawn Burkett is recovering from a serious pneumonia infection.
For those of you who don’t know, my friend Shawn Burkett is an indie horror film director from the Dayton, Ohio area and co-owner of Concept Media. He is best known for the controversially titled Don’t F in the Woods movies as well as Animal Inside (formerly titled Betsy) and the upcoming multi-award winning Bigfoot movie, Stranded.
A few weeks back, he went MIA for a while. What we didn’t know was that he was in the hospital battling a rare form of pneumonia. His lungs were 70% coated and he nearly died. He contacted me shortly after he was released and told us about it. He is currently on oxygen tanks which cost $200 dollars a month to help him recover as well as other medical necessities. Needless to say, he doesn’t smoke anymore.
But his cousin set up a Gofundme page to help with his medical expenses because if you don’t know, being an indie full time filmmaker doesn’t pay that much. So if you are able to, please donate or share to help. Thank you for your time.
