Independent Virginia-based film producers James Person and Gordon Price are pleased to announce a distribution agreement for their latest film, Saltville, with Acort Global Media, a division of Maxim Media Enterprises. Acort Global Media has over 30 years of experience distributing thriller and horror films worldwide, from physical media to on-demand streaming services. With a commitment to quality and innovation, Acort Global Media continues to push the boundaries of cinema, delivering unforgettable cinematic experiences to diverse audiences around the globe.
Person and Price are the creative forces behind this historical thriller, their third collaborative effort as independent filmmakers. The film raises awareness of the horrific real-life massacre of African Americans during the First Battle of Saltville and reflects on today’s ongoing battle between good and evil. This synergistic work effectively weaves Person’s mastery of creative cinematography and insights into the human psyche with Price’s story-telling skills and passion for history and the macabre.
Saltville expands upon themes first developed in Person’s and Prices’s previous film, Ten Doors. This film is a supernatural horror thriller that explores the fringes of spirituality and mortality and the conflicts between the wicked and the righteous.
The earliest of Person’s and Price’s three collaborations, Crawford Road, achieved national recognition, resulting in an ongoing battle over First Amendment rights. The film is based on the true-crime Colonial Parkway murders of the 1980s and the century-old legend of nearby Crawford Road in Yorktown, Virginia. The film, partially shot on location on federal land, resulted in a landmark legal battle over film producers’ exercise of free speech through filming on federal property.
