Female-driven horror and Grindhouse-inspired
filmmaking collide in this charming
indie splatter-comedy from Donnie Hobbie

A washed-up metal band calling themselves Jump Scare heads to a decaying farmhouse where legendary rock group Blitzgasm supposedly vanished years earlier.
Their mission? Write the album that finally makes them immortal.
Their reality? Flat tires, questionable drugs and unresolved grudges.
Tensions flare faster than their creative process and the band’s sarcastic bassist, burnout guitarist, goth mystic, and permanently-overwhelmed roadie find themselves trapped in a rural nightmare populated by creepy locals, VHS confessionals, dead cats, mystery meat cakes, and a deeply unsettling woman with an eyepatch who may or may not be murdering people between Bible verses.

JUMP SCARE begins as a grungy slasher and spirals into a delirious fever dream of body horror, metal culture, and emotional dysfunction. Friendships collapse, secrets surface, and one unfortunate bandmate learns the hard way that maybe cows really do “rupture.”
Bloody, bizarre, and laugh-out-loud unhinged, JUMP SCARE is what happens when punk-rock ego, horror-movie logic, and a gas-station fruitcake collide headfirst at 90 miles per hour.
